Goodbye, Amazing Readers!💛

Hi everyone! It’s hard to believe that this course has come to an end — time truly flew by. When I first started, I didn’t know what to expect, but now I can confidently say that this experience has shaped both my language skills and my perspective on teaching and learning. One of the greatest strengths of this course was how it encouraged us to connect theory with real classroom practice. I loved exploring innovative approaches like AI-integration and flipped classrooms, and I think many of you did too. At the same time, I sometimes found the workload challenging, especially when balancing detailed lesson designs and reflection tasks. But looking back, those challenges were the moments that helped me grow the most. The easiest part for me was sharing ideas with all of you. The most enjoyable task was the " Flipped Classroom". It felt creative and practical. I can't say I didn't enjoy this specific task, but the only confusing thing was the corpus, you might re...

AI in ELT!

How nice to see you again!  Unfortunately this will be my last assignment for the course "Current Issues in Teaching". It was my first time engaging with a such subject and I really enjoyed the process. I hope you also enjoyed it.       Creating our AI-integrated teaching material was a collaborative and reflective process. Together with my partners Sıla  https://silaghtlyconfusingideas.blogspot.com/   and Bernis   https://bernislearning.blogspot.com/2025/11/ai-enhanced-cblp-assignment.html   , we designed “The Best Vacation Ever!” to support students’ writing through visuals, brainstorming, and guided feedback. We focused on helping learners generate ideas before class so that in-class time could be used more effectively for writing and revision. Canva visuals were used to engage students and activate background knowledge, while ChatGPT was integrated as a feedback tool to promote learner autonomy and reflection. Throughout the process, we ...

AR/VR Integration into ELT

Hello dear friends. Hope you’re doing well.  I’m here to share my new work with you. I think it’s the most engaging one by far. I’m sure you’ll like it too. Let me tell you what is it about. The current state of technology is fascinating. Also the average student and teachers have access to so much interesting tools. Some of them can be used very smart for educational purposes like I did with this assignment. We used Augmented and Virtual Realities to integrate images, videos and even virtual visits.  Our main goal was to entertain students in an educational way. It’s also really beneficial for task-based, exploratory language learning.  Our lesson is called  “Exploring Vienna”  and it is designed for A2-level high school English prep students. During the lesson, students become virtual travelers and explore Vienna by scanning QR codes on a printed “Vienna Travel Agency” handout. They get the opportunity to experience the amazing Schönbrunn palace, the St....

Flipped Classroom

Hey hey heey! How nice to see you again🥰 I'm here with a new project.. For this project, we designed a flipped classroom activity, an approach in which students learn new material at home through videos or online resources and then come to class ready to apply that knowledge. This method is especially useful in language teaching because it gives learners time to review content at their own pace, increases exposure to input, and creates more opportunities for speaking during class. However, it also has disadvantages: not all students have reliable internet access, and some may skip the pre-class work, making in-class tasks less effective. Our task was to create a short flipped video to introduce vocabulary items and design an online quiz to check comprehension. After students watched the video, they were expected to participate in communicative activities during the lesson. We aimed to make the content simple, visually clear, and suitable for 5th-grade learners. Working with my ...

AI+Corpus Based Teaching Material

Helooo <3       I'm glad that it hasn't been so long.😌 I'm officially here with my first assignment. It's about a recent topic we learned: corpus. A corpus is basically a huge digital collection of real-life language examples taken from books, news, conversations, and websites. Instead of learning grammar from rules alone, students can look at how people actually use the language in real contexts.      In our first assignment, we worked collaboratively with my friends Sıla- silaghtlyconfusingideas.blogspot.com  and Bernis-  https://bernislearning.blogspot.com       In this assignment, our goal  was to create a lesson that not only teaches the topic we chose but also allows students to discover the rules themselves through real language data. To achieve this, we paired two tools: SKELL for corpus searches and ChatGPT for inductive explanation. Alongside the worksheets, we developed a full lesson plan using the ASS...

Let's Be Acquainted!

Welcome to my first ever post🥰 I'm happy to be able to write it finally!!! As I was in Erasmus, I've been listening my friends rhapsodize writing blog posts and how it's the most fun thing they've ever done. Now that I’m back, I’m diving into the course "Current Issues in Teaching". From teaching challenges to new approaches, classroom realities to evolving trends of technology, I’ll be sharing everything from the course. I’m looking forward to learning, writing, and hopefully connecting with others who are on the same path.           Hope you'll stand by and see where this journey takes me.
